Upcoming Resurfacing Works On Cardinia Life Car Park

Cardinia Shire Council is scheduled to complete car park resurfacing works at Cardinia Life in Pakenham from Monday 12 January.

Located on Olympic Way in Pakenham, Cardinia Life includes indoor pool, community health, sporting and recreational facilities.

The facility's north-east car park located closest to the indoor pool includes 76 parking bays and 7 accessible spaces. Over the years, the surface has worn down and is now in poor condition, so it's time for a much-needed refresh to keep the area safe and easy to use for everyone.

To ensure that community amenity, access and safety, Council is completing upgrades as part of the 2025-26 Car Park Resurfacing Program, which will include:

  • Pavement renewal works to parking bays and the access road
  • Line marking

Cardinia Life is a highly valued and well used community asset that attracts people from right across the Shire. Redevelopment of the centre's regional basketball and gymnastics stadium is one of Council's key advocacy priorities that will drive our state election advocacy campaign and other advocacy efforts.

Council has engaged contractors to complete these upgrade works on its behalf, and construction is expected to be completed by Wednesday 14 January 2026, conditions permitting.

To keep our community safe, traffic management will be in place, and this section of the car park will be temporarily closed off to traffic while works are underway. Nightworks are also planned for Tuesday 13 January 2026, so line marking works can be completed.

Cardinia Life will remain open and accessible throughout these works, and alternate parking can be found south of Cardinia Life and across the road at the Toomuc Recreation Reserve.

Council will be working to minimise disruptions during normal business hours. While we'll do our best to reduce impacts, you may notice some extra traffic, noise, dust and lighting.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make these improvements for the benefit of the whole community. We apologise for any inconvenience and look forward to delivering better roads and infrastructure.
