Police will prepare a report for the Coroner outlining the full circumstances surrounding the death of a woman on a boat at Balmain at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to a marina on Roberts Street just after 4pm on Saturday (2 February 2019), after a woman was found unconscious in the bathroom of a charter boat.
Upon arrival a 39-year-old Berowra woman was found to be deceased at the scene.
Officers from the Marine Area Command attended, along with Fire and Rescue NSW HAZMAT crews and a crime scene was established.
Investigators were advised that several gas detection tests were conducted in a bathroom area of the vessel and were found to be in excess of safe operating levels.
The vessel has been secured at the Marine Area Command base where further forensic testing will be completed.
A post mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of the woman's death.
