Update – Men charged over serious assault in Ormeau, QLD

Police have charged five men following an alleged serious assault incident which occurred in Ormeau yesterday afternoon, Queensland Police say.

It is alleged around 2.40pm, police were called to a Jonquil Street address following reports of a disturbance.

During the incident it is alleged several cars had arrived at the address and a number of men had entered the residence. As a result, a brawl allegedly broke out with the people inside.

Four men were taken to the Gold Coast University hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening wounds.

A 25-year-old and a 24-year old man both from Pimpama, a 27-year-old Oxenford man and two Clagiraba men aged 29 and 31 have all been each charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

All of the men are due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
