Update On Our Approach To Co-design

We are improving how we deliver co-design.

We have heard from the disability community about the need to focus co-design efforts on the most critical reforms to the NDIS. This will allow more time and involve more people in consultation and engagement on changes to the Scheme.

From April 2025, we will focus co-design groups on the key Scheme reforms, including:

  • Navigation
  • Assessment and Budgeting
  • Participant Pathway Experience
  • Participant Safeguarding.

Other co-design groups will pause until the next phase of reform. This includes:

  • Home and Living
  • Integrity
  • Workforce Capability.

We will continue to engage and consult on all other topics. This will include more opportunities for participants, their families, carers and supporters to get involved - such as through Participant First.

We will also share more regular updates about the process and outcomes of our co-design and engagement work through our communications channels, including this newsletter.

We will continue consulting with the Disability Representative and Carer Organisation (DRCO) Forum, Independent Advisory Council (IAC) and IAC Reference Groups, and NDIA Reference and Advisory Groups on key areas of reform.

This enables us to better listen to the disability community about key changes that will impact them, and make sure we deliver a better experience for people with disability.
