Update – Serious assault investigation in Broadbeach Waters, QLD

Detectives investigating the violent assault of a man outside a cabaret restaurant in Broadbeach Waters earlier this month have released CCTV images of four men who can assist with their inquiries, Queensland Police say.

The 49-year-old man was walking on Hooker Boulevard shortly before 11pm on Saturday, October 6 when he was approached from behind and unexpectedly assaulted by a number of men.

The victim was hit several times in the face and head causing him to fall over where he was kicked a number of times to the head.

At which point the men fled on foot east along hooker boulevard towards Broadbeach.

The victim was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since returned to his home interstate.

Investigators have released CCTV images of four men seen in the area of Hooker Boulevard around the time of the attack and have encouraged them to make contact with police.

Detectives also want to speak with anyone who observed the men between 10.30pm and 11.30pm.
