Major Crime Investigation Branch has completed a comprehensive preliminary investigation into the police shooting at Crystal Brook on 3 May 2023.
Today the Commissioner of Police, Grant Stevens was advised that the death of Sean Ferris of Crystal Brook has been determined to have been in self-defence. Therefore, there will be no criminal charges laid for the two South Australia Police officers involved.
The full investigation into the incident is continuing as a mandated coronial inquest pursuant to the Coroners Act.
As the matter is subject to an inquest no further comments will be made.
