Update2: Traffic Crash At Buderim

Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) has charged a man following investigations into a traffic crash involving a cyclist in Buderim on 7 May.

Investigations indicate a 13-year-old Mooloolaba boy was riding his bicycle on Sugar Road just after 6pm when he was struck by a vehicle at the roundabout, at intersection of Wises Road.

After the crash, the vehicle involved allegedly continued to drive along Super Road and left the scene without rendering assistance.

Following an appeal and investigations, officers have charged a 42-year-old Pelican Waters man with one count of careless driving causing grievous bodily harm and failing to fulfil obligations.

He is expected to appear at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 16 June.

The boy sustained serious leg injuries and has undergone multiple surgeries and remains in the Queensland Children's Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
