Updated Cross Border Travel Associated Direction 31 August, South Australia

The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 46) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 47) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction came into effect at 9.30am on Tuesday August 31 2021.

Key changes include:

Queensland and Northern Territory Travellers:

  • People travelling from the Northern Territory (Katherine) and Greater Brisbane Area are now able to travel to South Australia without restrictions.
  • Travellers who arrived from Katherine and the Greater Brisbane Local Government Areas in the last 14 days before 9:30am today are subject to the Cross Border Travel Associated Direction in effect at the time of their arrival. They must complete testing on days 1, 5 and 13 and quarantine until a negative COVID-19 test result. They will not be able to enter high risk areas or events with more than 1000 people attending (COVID Management Plan events) until the expiry of the 14 day period unless otherwise advised by an authorised officer.

Essential Travellers:

  • Essential Travellers in Commercial Transport and Freight Services categories pursuant to the Cross Border Travel General No 2 Direction, Schedule 3, clause 3 and 8 are NOT required to receive a COVID-19 vaccination by 24 September 2021.

Other existing requirements remain.
