Upgrades Begin At Norm Sadler Pavilion

  • Works underway on improvements to the Norm Sadler Pavilion in Maida Vale
  • Project includes new changeroom facilities and a refurbished kitchen and social areas
  • Supported by WA Labor Government with $2.4 million in funding

A community sporting hub at the Maida Vale Reserve is set to be transformed, with works commencing on upgrades to the Norm Sadler Pavilion.

The project includes three new changerooms for players, an umpires changeroom, first aid room, storage and new internal toilets.

Further improvements to existing amenities will also be made to four changerooms, kitchen and social areas.

The Norm Sadler Pavilion supports a variety of local community sports including baseball, cricket, soccer, tee ball and softball with the facility being home to local teams, the Kalamunda Rangers and Kalamunda City Football Club.

The WA Labor Government has contributed $2.4 million to the project, with the remaining $3.6 million provided by the local government.

The revitalised facility is expected to be completed within 12 months.

As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti:

"Our government is committed to providing safe, high quality and accessible recreational facilities for our communities to enjoy.

"The upgrades to the Norm Sadler Pavilion will see new changerooms and toilets as well as a refurbished kitchen and social spaces, supporting community connection and healthy, active lifestyles.

"Our government's support for this redevelopment will provide a great new sporting facility that will benefit local residents and people in surrounding suburbs for many years to come."

"This project has been highly anticipated, with local clubs and community members excited to see construction getting underway.

"A transformed Norm Sadler Pavilion at Maida Vale Reserve will be a game changer for people living in the hills and our government is proud to be delivering it."
