The Territory Labor Government is upgrading the Cox Peninsula Road and Darwin River Road intersection.

The upgrade will involve the widening of Cox Peninsula Road to accommodate a right turning lane onto Darwin River Road.

This project is part of the Territory Governments $220 million road safety budget.

The upgrade will enhance safety and improve the flow of traffic and also include:

  • Widening of Cox Peninsula Road
  • Dedicated new right turning lane
  • Extend existing culverts
  • Install subsoil drainage
  • Signage and line marking
  • Minor clearing to improve sight distances
  • Intersection lighting

Works are set to commence this month and are set to be complete by the end of 2021.
