On July 13, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia Laura Cooper co-chaired the U.S.-Bosnia and Herzegovina Bilateral Defense Consultations in Sarajevo with Bosnia and Herzegovina Defense Minister Sifet Podžić. The sides shared perspectives on the regional security environment, coordinated on plans for enhanced bilateral security cooperation, and discussed other issues of importance to U.S-Bosnia and Herzegovina defense relations. The leaders reaffirmed the importance of the U.S.-Bosnia and Herzegovina strategic partnership in protecting shared values and advancing common security interests, and to security and stability in BiH and the Western Balkans.
