US Defense Sec. Austin Discusses Defense with Polish Deputy PM

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with his Polish counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, yesterday, to discuss Russia's war in Ukraine and the urgent need for additional security assistance.

The two leaders reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the Ukrainian people and condemned Russia's unlawful war of choice. Secretary Austin recognized Poland's leadership in providing security assistance in the form of equipment, training, and sustainment support for Ukraine's Armed Forces.

Both leaders look forward to continued coordination through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and future bilateral engagements.
