USAID Chief Samantha Power Heads to Maldives

On behalf of President Joseph R. Biden Jr., USAID Administrator Samantha Power will lead the U.S. Presidential Delegation to the Republic of Maldives to attend the inauguration of His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on November 17.

During her trip, Administrator Power will emphasize the U.S. government's commitment to the people of Maldives. The Administrator will also meet with local government officials, civil society leaders, and the business community.

Having recently established the first U.S. Embassy in Maldives, the United States partners with the Government of Maldives in support of a sovereign, secure, and democratic Maldives that is powered by sustainable economic growth and that is resilient to climate change.
