A total of 4,243,600 vaccinations have been administered at more than 5,400 sites. As of today, 7,168,544 vaccine doses have been delivered to these sites by the Australian Government.
Last week, 630,547 doses were administered across the country. Daily reports of vaccines administered continue to increase, with a new largest daily increase of 124,871 recorded on 27 May.
It took 47 days to get to our first million doses administered and 19 days to get to the second million. We reached our third million in 17 days, and our fourth in 13 days. We are building capability each day.
Apart from supporting existing vaccination sites across the country, our primary focus has been on providing whatever additional support is required by our fellow Australians in Victoria.
This includes releasing an additional 170,000 vaccines to support Victoria to accelerate vaccinations in the state, including in the affected Whittlesea Local Government Area.
Thanks to the many health and logistics professionals working hard to service the Victorian community, all 596 residential aged care facilities in Victoria have received a first dose visit, with 382 having received a second dose visit.
Roving clinics have now also been established to revisit residential aged care facilities in priority areas who have already received a first dose visit. These roving clinics will offer vaccinations to residents who may not have chosen to receive a vaccination during the first visit.

Supplying and producing the vaccine
Last week, 352,170 doses of Pfizer and 1,007,600 doses of AstraZeneca were released.
Over the coming days, the Therapeutic Goods Administration will conduct sample testing of 298,350 doses of Pfizer vaccine which arrived in Australia today, along with approximately 950,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine produced onshore by CSL, prior to releasing the vaccines for distribution.
Distributing the vaccine
Last week, more than 863,000 vaccine doses were delivered across Australia to metropolitan, rural and remote locations, along with nearly 2,200 deliveries of consumables.
- Additional Doses for Victoria. Victoria received an additional 20,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine on Friday 28 May, as well as an increase of their weekly allocation from 26,000 to 41,000 doses per week for the next six weeks. A further 60,000 doses of AstraZeneca will be delivered in the coming week, on top of their weekly allocation. Total Pfizer and AstraZeneca supplied to Victorian State Hubs is now 787,780 doses (with approximately 311,000 remaining), with a further 171,370 doses to be delivered in the coming week.
- Ordering and Delivery. 99.9% of vaccine orders were completed last week with 1 order from NSW to be finalised today.
- Australia's assistance to the Pacific.This week another 90,000 doses were made available for distribution to the Pacific, with more than 218,480 doses now provided to DFAT.
Administering the vaccine
Last week, a record number of doses were administered nationwide, with 630,547 doses taking the total to 4,243,600.
An analysis of the data demonstrates a significant weekday average increase of more than 15,000 doses per day compared to the previous week, now sitting at 108,000 per weekday. This resulted from a week on week increase in Pfizer vaccinations to those aged 40-49, as well as another increase in the rate of AstraZeneca vaccinations in those aged 50-69.
- Total sites.We have 4,397 general practices, 136 Commonwealth Vaccination Clinics (CVCs - formerly GPRCs) and 157 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services currently delivering vaccines, along with 717 state and territory sites, taking the total number of vaccination sites across the country to 5,407.
- Aged Care.With our vaccine workforce service providers, we continue to focus on those most at risk in our residential aged care facilities, and have now completed first dose visits to 2,537 facilities (99%) and 1,920 second dose visits (75%).
- Disability.We are also ramping up our visits to disability residents with complex needs who require in-reach services, with 225 visits conducted last week. So approximately 7,000 people with a disability in a residential setting (including 2,000 in Victoria) have received at least one dose.
