Vehicle intercept leads to weapons arrest, Marsden

Police have charged a man after the alleged discovery of a loaded firearm during a vehicle intercept at Marsden this morning.

Around 4am Crestmead officers intercepted a vehicle driving along Fairbairn Street.

The driver of the vehicle was acting suspiciously which led police to conduct a search of his vehicle.

As a result it will be alleged officers located a loaded sawn off shotgun inside the vehicle.

A 44-year-old Woodridge man has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and is expected to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 1.
