Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have identified a vehicle they had been searching for as part of an investigation into a fatal collision in Pakenham South.

Police located a scooter rider unresponsive at the intersection of Healesville-Koo Wee Rup and Ballarto roads in Pakenham South just before 7pm on February 9.

The 60-year-old Pakenham man was taken to hospital in a critical condition but sadly later died.

That vehicle has since been located and a 50-year-old Lang Lang man is assisting detectives with their enquiries.
