Vibrant way to get music, arts and festival news

With the return of events to Cairns comes the relaunch of Vibrance – a free printed magazine and app featuring all arts and cultural happenings of Cairns Regional Council.

The April relaunch edition of Vibrance features a cover story on the Cairns Children's Festival, with details about the free and ticketed activities across the three Festival venues – Tanks Arts Centre, The Court House and Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) – on the weekend of 15 and 16 May.

"It is wonderful to see the return of one of the city's favourite festivals," Cairns Mayor Bob Manning said.

"The Children's Festival has been growing in popularity since being established in 2014 and I am confident that this year's line-up of entertainment and activities will prove to be very popular with families."

On Saturday (16 May), ticketed shows will be held at CPAC including the ever-popular Erth's Dinosaur Zoo, and a comedy circus show called Chores, which sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

There will be free Festival events at the newly refurbished Court House on the Saturday, while Tanks Arts Centre becomes the Festival hub on Sunday (16 May) between 9am and 3pm.

Highlights include two free performances of Regurgitator's Pogogo Show and Beyond the Waves, a brand new puppet show presented by ARC Disability Services with creative development by Dead Puppet Society.
