Victoria Announces Squad For WNCL Matches Against Tasmania

Victoria has named its 13-player squad to face Tasmania in the Women's National Cricket League, with a pair of matches to be played at home on Wednesday and Friday at the CitiPower Centre.

The matches mark Victoria's final WNCL fixtures before the WBBL break, as the squad looks to build on key learnings from their opening rounds against New South Wales last week.

Victoria welcomes back all-rounder Samara Dulvin, following her successful tour of Sri Lanka as captain of the Australian Under 19 team, and Tess Flintoff, who returns after rehabbing a hamstring injury sustained during the recent Australia A series.

After an impressive debut against New South Wales, youngster Zoe Samuel retains her place in the squad, while Sasha Moloney will come up against her former side in strong early-season form, having scored a team-high 56 not out, while taking 1/18 in last week's clash with the Blues.

Head Coach Andy Christie said the group is eager to continue building momentum.

"We're excited for this week's matches. The focus for the group has been on taking the learnings from those opening rounds against New South Wales and applying them against a strong Tasmanian side," said Christie.

"It's great to have Samara back from her Under 19 tour and to welcome back Tess at full fitness. The group is hungry to finish this block strongly before the WBBL break."

Victoria will face Tasmania at the CitiPower Centre on Wednesday, October 8 and Friday, October 10, with both matches beginning at 10am. Both games will be streamed live on Kayo and cricket.com.au.
