Victoria names unchanged Sheffield Shield squad

Victoria has named an unchanged 13-player squad to travel to Perth to take on ladder leaders Western Australia in their last home and away match of the Sheffield Shield season.

Leading into the final round, Victoria and Queensland are battling it out for a place in the Sheffield Shield Final with Western Australia confirmed to host.

Queensland is currently sitting in second place, with a 0.36-point lead over Victoria in third. QLD will face Tasmania in Hobart in their final round.

Victoria has now won four matches in a row under stand-in captain Will Sutherland's leadership since the resumption of the competition after the BBL break.

"The way that Will has led the young group has been outstanding, it's been a full squad effort over the last few matches and we've seen various players step up," Cricket Victoria's Head of Male Cricket, David Hussey said.

"We couldn't have asked much more from the bowling group, Mitch Perry has returned to the side and taken 19 wickets in the last three matches and led from the front.

"From a batting perspective, the way that Matt Short has been able to adapt to different conditions has been really pleasing. The conditions we faced in Albury were completely different to those the week before at the CitiPower Centre, so to score back-to-back centuries was very rewarding."
