At last night's meeting of Campaspe Shire Council, the tender for the highly anticipated Victoria Park Multipurpose Facility Redevelopment Project in Echuca was awarded, marking a major milestone in the delivery of this community infrastructure project.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell said this is a significant step forward in the project.

"The Victoria Park Multipurpose Facility will not only provide a modern, fit-for-purpose space for sporting and community groups, but will also serve as a vital Emergency Relief Centre in times of need.

"This project is about more than bricks and mortar. It's about building resilience, strengthening community connections, and creating a space that reflects the diverse needs of our region," said the Mayor.

The redevelopment is supported by a $11.3 million grant from the Australian Government's Growing Regions Program, with Council contributing an additional $2 million to the project.

The new facility will enable a broader range of community activities, including school formals, health outreach services, sporting events, training sessions, and cultural programs.

Council has been actively engaging with Victoria Park user groups to ensure continuity of access to alternative facilities during the construction phase. The project will also be coordinated alongside the Victoria Park Oval Irrigation Redevelopment to minimise disruption.

Construction is set to commence in October with an estimated completion timeframe of December 2026. To stay updated on the project progress, subscribe to www.campaspe.vic.gov.au/vicpark
