Victoria Unveils Squad for Dean Jones Trophy vs WA

Victoria has announced its 13-player squad for their Dean Jones Trophy match against Western Australia at the WACA on Saturday February 21.

Victoria will be looking to continue it's strong run of form following yesterday's dominant 354-run win over Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield – a result that clinched a home final for Chris Rogers' side.

Will Sutherland will be rested for Saturday, with Matt Short to captain the side in his absence, continuing in the leadership role he has held during previous Dean Jones Cup matches this season.

Exciting young batter Dylan Brasher has been included in the travelling squad following an eye-catching Sheffield Shield debut earlier this year. The left-hander's recent performances in Victoria's Second XI and Premier Cricket have earned him the opportunity in the one-day format as Victoria continues to invest in emerging home-grown talent.

Young bowlers Austin Anlezark and Cam McClure have also impressed with the opportunities provided throughout the white ball season and retain their places in the squad, continuing to give Victoria fast bowling depth.

The squad features a strong mix of experience and youth, with Peter Handscomb, Sam Harper and Todd Murphy adding stability alongside a developing core as Victoria enters the final stages of the Dean Jones Trophy campaign.

Victoria will face Western Australia at the WACA on Friday February 21, with play beginning at 5 pm AEDT.
