Victorian Premier Issues Statement 4 August

Today I am unveiling a new Cabinet - a Labor team ready to deliver a new direction for Victorians.

My team is experienced and united, focused on getting things done.

I have reduced the Ministry. This is a simple measure I can make right now to save taxpayers money.

Because every dollar my government spends will be treated with respect and only where it delivers the greatest value for Victorians.

Together, we will ensure our Cabinet earns the trust Victorians place in it.

That includes a new Cabinet role to back AI and digital technology, growing our economy and jobs.

Anthony Carbines will become the new Minister for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy, focusing on driving innovation and investment, while keeping AI development ethical and responsible.

He will also become the new Minister for Major Events, Medical Research, Economic Development and will remain the Minister for Racing and the Leader of the House.

Deputy Premier Gabrielle Williams will become the new Minister for Education, Women and Gender Equality, Skills and Training and First Peoples.

Lizzie Blandthorn will remain the Minister for Children, Disability and Deputy Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council.

Colin Brooks will become the new Treasurer and Minister for Industrial Relations.

Steve Dimopoulos will become the new Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC, Equality and will remain the Minister for Sport.

Paul Edbrooke will become the new Minister for Police, Emergency Services, Crime Prevention and Multicultural Affairs.

Enver Erdogan will become the new Minister for Finance, Minister for Government Services and will remain the Minister for Casino, Gaming and Liquor Regulation.

Luba Grigorovitch remains the Minister for Youth and Carers and Volunteers.

Paul Hamer will become the new Minister for Roads and Road Safety.

Melissa Horne will become the new Minister for Jobs, Industry and Advanced Manufacturing, Defence Industry and will remain the Minister for Ports and Freight.

Sonya Kilkenny will become the new Minister for Prevention of Family Violence and will remain Attorney-General and the Minister for Planning.

Tim Richardson will become the new Minister for Local Government, Consumer Affairs and Renters.

Michaela Settle will become the new Minister for Water and the Minister for Rural and Regional Development and will remain the Minister for Agriculture.

Ros Spence will become the new Minister for Youth Justice, Corrections, Victims Support and will remain the Minister for Community Sport.

Nick Staikos will become the new Minister for Housing, Building and Precincts, Homelessness and Seniors.

Ingrid Stitt will become the new Minister for Health, Mental Health, Ambulance Services and will remain the Special Minister of State.

Natalie Suleyman will become the new Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment and will remain the Minister for Small and Family Business and Veterans.

Jaclyn Symes will become the new Minister for Energy and Resources, the State Electricity Commission, Climate Action, Environment and will remain the Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council.

Vicki Ward will become the Minister for Public Transport and will remain the Minister for Creative Industries.

Nina Taylor will become the Cabinet Secretary.

Victoria has a strong and united Labor team, delivering for working people.

My Cabinet will stay focused on what matters most - cost of living, keeping Victorians safe and delivering great healthcare and education.
