Students of OneSchool Global (OSG) campuses across Victoria have come up with original and creative ideas to raise more than $67,000 for the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation (RCHF), exceeding their target of $50,000.
Seven OSG campuses have been involved in the charitable initiative, driven by students from Bairnsdale, Bendigo, Berwick, Hamilton, Melton, Nathalia and Swan Hill.
"Every year our OSG students raise thousands of dollars for the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation, and it is so inspiring to see them using their own initiative to rally the support of the school community," said OSG Regional Principal Simon Beaumont.
"This year, the OSG Victorian campuses have far exceeded their $50,000 target, raising an incredible $67,671 for sick kids," he said.
"Through the OSG Learning to Learn framework, our students are supported to take control of their own learning – and we really see how empowered and driven they are when they take the lead on their charitable initiatives."
Students have held a variety of fundraising events this year, including a luxury car wash at Swan Hill, where students rolled up their sleeves to scrub, vacuum and polish.
At Hamilton Campus, students have raised money with weekly events, including a Rock Paper Scissors tournament, Donut Days, Ice Cream Races, Odd Hat Day, and Anything but a Backpack Day. Hamilton also partnered with Bendigo campus to hold a talent quest.
Melton students took a trip through time with their Market of the Millennium, with treat-laden stalls themed to different eras from the past, while Bairnsdale students held an International Market, with each stall themed to a country.
A joint sports day was held by Nathalia and Berwick students securing team sponsorships from local businesses.
"OneSchool Global students have raised more than $200,000 for the RCHF in recent years," said Georgia Gribble, Fundraising Coordinator for the Royal Children's Hospital.
"These funds have gone towards the Hospital's specialist care wards and Intensive Care Unit, and we are very thankful for the support of OSG students."
Over recent years OSG students have raised a total of $273,740 for the RCHF.
