VOL_NTEER We need U campaign blitz

  • State-wide media campaign urges more people to volunteer
  • The VOL_NTEER We need U campaign encourages everyone to make an impact through volunteering
  • Volunteers are the backbone of our community, making WA a better place to live, more help is always needed

The McGowan Government has kicked off a State-wide media campaign blitz which aims to attract more people into volunteering and revitalise the volunteering sector following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The VOL_NTEER We need U campaign recognises and thanks volunteers in Western Australia and promotes different types of volunteer opportunities across the State.

It will also encourage more diversity in volunteers, asking younger Western Australians to take a more active part in volunteering, as well as showcasing the benefits of volunteer activities to culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

The campaign will help organisations to promote opportunities and show how helping others can give a sense of purpose and appreciation.

The VOL_NTEER We need U campaign will run between March and June across traditional broadcast and online media.

As stated by Volunteering Minister Stephen Dawson:

"Volunteers contribute so much to Western Australia's social fabric.

"Their actions not only make a difference to the community, but also provide a sense of purpose and wellbeing for those involved.

"Volunteering is also an important way to upskill and build experience, with roles across a range of different industries which suit people at all levels of experience.

"I encourage all Western Australians to consider volunteering in 2023."
