WA Government releases Supporting Communities Forum Communique

The WA State Government has published the latest communique from the Supporting Communities Forum held on 25 March 2019.

The Supporting Communities Forum (the Forum) was established in late 2017 to support the implementation of the State Government's Supporting Communities policy which is focused on improving the quality of services provided to vulnerable Western Australians.

The ongoing role of the Forum is to explore effective ways of engaging with the community sector, to enable positive change to complex issues impacting on the lives of Western Australians. Core values have been identified to encourage strong relationships between the State Government and the sector. These underpinning values are: collaboration, cultural competence, transparency, accountability, building on strengths and evidence based. The Forum and its Working Groups aim to identify opportunities for better designed services, and help guide future Government priorities. This work will also support the directions of the McGowan Government's Machinery of Government reforms and the recommendations emerging from the Service Priority Review. NDS WA State Manager, Julie Waylen, is a member of the Forum.
