An event in Albany today will kickstart this year's WA Mental Health Week, which aims to raise awareness about mental health and wellbeing in communities across the State.

This year's WA Mental Health Week theme is Empowering Communities, Thriving Workforces,focusing on mental health and wellbeing at work.

The opening event and theme complement the Cook Government's commitment to mental health support and suicide prevention in regional communities.

The State Government funds a range of mental health support programs for regional areas, such as specialised workforce training delivered by SafeSide Prevention , public education campaigns, and Kids Helpline .
