WA Music Week 2026 Returns, Boosts Local Industry

Western Australia's vibrant music scene will step into the limelight again this August, with the return of WA Music Week 2026 in Fremantle.

Delivered by WA Music and backed by a four-year $500,000 commitment from the Cook Labor Government's Contemporary Music Fund, WA Music Week returns stronger than ever, bringing together artists, industry professionals and music lovers for a celebration of local talent and creativity.

As the second largest music showcase and conference in Australia, WA Music Week shines a spotlight on the artists, venues and industry figures that shape Western Australia's dynamic and relentlessly original music community.

WA Music Week will open with a curated series of live music events across Fremantle that celebrates the diverse genres, communities and creativity from across Western Australia's music scene.

From 14-15 August, WAMCon, one of Australia's largest music conferences, will again deliver highvalue networking and skillsdevelopment opportunities with speakers and panellists from across the country.

The week builds to its headline act on Saturday 15 August with the WAM Showcase across multiple Fremantle venues, featuring 23 emerging Western Australian artists and giving them the opportunity to perform in front of home crowds.

Expressions of interest are now open for bands and musicians to apply for the WAM Showcase and Artist Development Program, for venues and promoters across the State to present WA Music Week events with support from WAM, and for regionally based artists and industry to access dedicated travel support and opportunities, including the Regional Gathering.
