WA Football has announced that the showpiece of the state's premier women's football competition will be a stand-alone event on Sunday 23 August.
Fremantle Mayor Ben Lawver welcomed the announcement and said the city is a proud host.
"Fremantle is extremely proud to host the 2026 WAFLW Grand Final. We can't wait to see some of WA's finest footballers competing for top honours in our beautiful port city," Mayor Lawver said.
"It's an honour to welcome all the players, officials, families and fans to Fremantle. We look forward to sharing with them the iconic Fremantle Oval, the warm hospitality and everything that makes Fremantle a great place to visit."
WA Football CEO, Brad Wira, said the stand-alone fixture would enhance the experience for players and spectators alike.
"The WAFLW Grand Final deserves its own stage, and this scheduling approach enables clubs, supporters and the wider football community to fully embrace the occasion," Mr Wira said.
"Fremantle Community Bank Oval provides a fantastic venue for a Grand Final as we saw for the Sullivan Logistics WAFL decider back in 2020 which was an amazing spectacle.
"The ground is traditionally in excellent condition at this time of year, while the surrounding Fremantle precinct offers a vibrant atmosphere with hospitality, entertainment and attractions that will further enhance the match-day experience."
South Fremantle Football Club CEO, Cameron Britt, said it was fantastic to see such premium football content at the ground.
"Fremantle Community Bank Oval is an iconic football venue and will be in outstanding condition for the WAFLW's biggest day," Mr Britt said.
"Hosting the Grand Final is a testament to the demand for the ground and the deep love of football in Fremantle."
The WAFLW Grand Final will bring together the competition's two best teams following a highly competitive season, with six teams still in the hunt for the top four race and is expected to attract strong support from across the WA football community.
On Sunday 23 August, the HART Sport Rogers Cup will kick off a 9.20am, with the WAFLW Grand Final starting at 12.05pm.
