The City of Canada Bay is pleased to announce that the upgrade of Wangal Reserve Amenities Building is now complete and the improved facilities have reopened to the public.
"The upgraded amenities building at Wangal Reserve has reopened, offering the community a refreshed, safer and more accessible facility that better supports the needs of local families and park visitors," said City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna.
On the exterior, final touches include roof and structural refinishing, while inside the public amenity block features a new internal layout that improves safety and accessibility. Updated finishes and fixtures, plus the addition of an accessible toilet with a baby change table have been installed to enhance convenience for all users.
Access to the facility has also been improved with the installation of a new concrete pathway and ramp, replacing the previous gravel path and better accommodating visitors who may be using a wheelchair or walking aid, or pushing a pram. This upgrade now connects seamlessly with the surrounding footpath network delivered during earlier stages of the Wangal Park redevelopment.
"This upgrade is about more than just a new look - it's about creating a space that is inclusive, safe and comfortable for everyone who visits Wangal Reserve," added Mayor Megna. "The City of Canada Bay is a diverse community and I'm proud that we've delivered an amenity that makes our parklands more enjoyable for more visitors."
