Wanted Man Arrested After Deportation From Indonesia

An Adelaide man wanted for skipping bail while awaiting trial for allegedly conspiring to import drugs into Australia has been arrested following his deportation from Indonesia.

The AFP arrested the man, 60, at Melbourne Airport about 6.30am today (4 September, 2025), after he was deported by the Indonesian Directorate General of Immigration.

He was wanted by the AFP after allegedly absconding from Australia unlawfully in 2019.

At that time, he was on bail and scheduled to face trial for his alleged involvement in the attempted importation of 272kg of methamphetamine from California to Australia in 2017 and was facing court over a separate alleged drug matter from 2013.

The man is scheduled to face Melbourne County Court later today.
