Wanted man located in the Illawarra and charged by Raptor South, NSW

A member of the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG), who was wanted on outstanding warrants for firearms offences, has been arrested by Raptor South.

As part of ongoing targeting and disruption of the illicit activities of criminal networks in the Illawarra, police from the Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor South conducted a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) search at a home at Towradgi about 1pm on Monday 19 November 2018.

During the search, officers located and seized a semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun, a replica pistol, a revolver, and a rifle.

The subject of the FPO – a 21-year-old man – was not home at the time of the search and could not be located by police.

Raptor South subsequently applied for and were granted a warrant for the man's arrest.

Following extensive inquiries, officers from Raptor South, with assistance of Lake Illawarra Target Action Group, arrested the man on the Princes Hwy, Dapto, about 11am today (Thursday 21 February 2019).

He was charged with the warrant for three counts of possess prohibited firearm, two counts of possess prohibited pistol, two counts of possess unauthorised pistol, possess shortened firearm, two counts of possess unregistered firearm, four counts of breach of FPO, and not keep firearm safely.

The man, who is a member of the Finks OMCG, was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court today.
