Wanted teen charged with numerous offences at Orange

A teen will face court today charged with traffic, property and firearm-related offences in the state's Central West.

In November 2021, officers attached to Central West Police District commenced an investigation following reports of a blue Yamaha motorcycle being stolen from a business on Peisley Street, Orange.

The Yamaha was sighted on numerous occasions riding on streets and footpaths throughout Orange.

Following inquiries, officers attended a home on Currong Street, Orange, where they arrested a 16-year-old boy about 6.30pm on Thursday 25 November 2021.

Police seized cannabis, a mobile phone and the Yamaha motorcycle from the home.

He was taken to Orange Police Station and charged with:

  • Enter building/land with intent commit indictable offence,
  • larceny value,
  • aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal,
  • never licensed person drive vehicle on road (x7),
  • use unregistered registrable Class A motor vehicle on road (x7),
  • motor bike rider (alone) not wear/secure fit approved helmet (x7),
  • take and drive conveyance without consent of owner (x5),
  • not stop at stop line at red light,
  • drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous and,
  • possess prohibited drug.

He was also served with two outstanding arrest warrants for firearm and traffic related offences.

The teen was refused bail to appear at a Children's Court today (Monday 29 November 2021).
