The Department of War announced today that the War Data Platform (WDP) has received an unmodified (clean) System and Organization Controls (SOC) 1 Type 2 examination opinion for the period November 17, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
This independent examination validates that the internal controls over financial reporting within the WDP are suitably designed and operating effectively. The release of this report provides critical assurance regarding the platform's system integrity, securely hosted within an Impact Level 5 (IL5) environment.
Securing a clean SOC-1 Type 2 opinion demonstrates that effective controls are in place for critical financial statement audit data — reducing the audit testing burden for financial systems and user entities across the Department that rely on the WDP. This achievement is a direct result of extensive collaboration between the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) the Office of the Under Secretary of War (Comptroller), and the Department of the Navy.
