Waste audit this month at Council's banks of bins

Snowy River Way Bank of Bins

Council has contracted EC Sustainable to conduct an independent audit of Council's bank of bins locations across the region.

This audit will provide us with the information needed to improve waste and recycling services and facilities, and provide education and services that meet the needs of our community.

Contamination of recycling and illegal dumping cost Council a significant amount of money each year. The results of this audit will ensure our education and compliance work are focusing on the right areas and are effectively targeted to help save ratepayers money.

To ensure a representative sample, we are unable to confirm specific dates, times or locations where the audit will be undertaken.

If you happen to see an auditor from EC Sustainable at your local bank of bins, please know that they are there officially and are doing an important job for our community.

This bank of bins audit is in addition to the kerbside collection audit conducted earlier this year.

Results and insights from these waste and recycling audits will be shared with the community soon, and Council will look at followup actions to help make a difference to our waste and recycling rates throughout the region.
