Moderate to heavy rainfall associated with Ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle has been observed across the Katherine River catchment since Sunday morning. Further showers and thunderstorms are possible over the next few days.
Moderate flooding is expected along the Katherine River from Monday afternoon. The river may peak near 6.00 m overnight Monday into Tuesday, with moderate flooding. Downstream along the Katherine River at Katherine Bridge, minor flooding may develop from Tuesday morning.
This situation will be closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.

Katherine River Gorge Road:
Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is expected along the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is currently at 5.44 m and rising, with minor flooding. The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is expected to exceed the moderate flood level (5.50 m) Monday afternoon. The river may peak near 6.00 m Monday evening, with moderate flooding.
Katherine Town:
Minor flooding is possible along the Katherine River at Katherine Town.
The Katherine River at Katherine Bridge is currently at 14.17 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Katherine River at Katherine Bridge may reach around the minor flood level (16.00 m) Tuesday morning.
