ANIMAL DONATIONS [feature]

This week we received a huge ute load of dog and cat food for our pound from the Animal Rescue Cooperative (ARC) in Narre Warren.

The animal food products are donated by pet food companies to support animals and the rescue operations finding them new homes.

REQUEST A TREE

Our Open Spaces team wants to know where you'd like us to plant trees. The offer is for nature strips within town boundaries anywhere across our Shire.

Requests for tree plantings can be lodged online, or on your smartphone by visiting:

EMERGENCY INFO HELP

To help our community gain easy access to emergency information and alerts, Emergency Recovery Victoria are supporting local workshops in our Shire over coming weeks.

The Don't Worry Get 'Appy sessions teach you how to access vital fire, flood and weather updates through smartphone applications (apps). You'll also learn to set notifications and save important documents digitally.

Apps to be covered include: Vic Emergency; Get Prepared (Red Cross); Bureau of Meteorology (BOM); My Mizu (locating free water on hot days); Emergency Plus; and ABC Listen.

  • Daisy Hill Community Centre - today, Friday 13 March from 5 to 7.30pm
  • Dunolly & District Neighbourhood Centre – Monday 23 March from 12.30 to 2.30pm
  • Bealiba Community Hall – Thursday 26 March from 1.30 to 3.30pm
  • Carisbrook Senior Citizens – Monday 20 April from 5.30 to7.30pm
  • Talbot and Maryborough to be confirmed.
