Wembley Assault and Stealing Incidents, WA

Perth Detectives are seeking information regarding two incidents that occurred in Wembley on Friday 1 December 2017.

Around 6pm, a 70 year old man was woken up by the noise made when two dark skinned men entered his home on Lake Monger Drive and began searching through various rooms. The man managed to phone police before he was confronted by the men. They struck him to the head before running from the house, WA Police say.

About five minutes later, a 52 year old man returned to his home on Lake Monger Drive and as he exited his BMW sedan he was confronted by a dark skinned man. The man punched and kicked the victim before taking his car keys and stealing his silver BMW. The vehicle was last seen travelling at speed in an easterly direction. Around 7pm the BMW was located by police at a nature reserve on Gravity Street in Beckenham.

Detectives are investigating if these incidents are linked and if the three men were together. One offender is described as approximately 187cms tall with a solid build and short dark cropped hair. He was wearing dark coloured clothing.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Lake Monger between 5pm and 6:30pm on Friday 1 December who man have seen the men or the stolen BMW. Anyone with information relating to these incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
