Western Australia coronovirus update as at 2 May 2021

The Department of Health has reported no new community cases of COVID-19 overnight.

Two new cases were reported in hotel quarantine – a woman and a man both in their 20's – who have recently returned from overseas.

Yesterday the Department of Health confirmed three new local cases of COVID-19 – a hotel security guard and two of his close contacts, but no additional cases linked to this cluster overnight.

Yesterday's three locally acquired cases are all now in hotel quarantine.

The State's total number is now 1005.

WA Health is monitoring 26 active cases of COVID-19 and 970 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, the WA Department of Health has administered 99,870 COVID-19 vaccinations, including 23,492 people who have received both doses. Yesterday, 974 people were vaccinated.
