Western Australia coronovirus update as at 20 March 2021

The Department of Health has reported one new case of COVID-19 overnight.

The new case a male in his 20s who had returned from overseas travel and are currently in hotel quarantine.

The State's total number of confirmed cases now stands at 930.

WA Health is monitoring 13 active cases of COVID-19 and 908 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

Yesterday 2,437 people were vaccinated. To date, 30,571 West Australians have received the COVID vaccine.

Yesterday at WA Health COVID clinics 224 people presented for testing – 215 were assessed and swabbed.

To date, 33 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia (25 of the B.1.1.7 strain and 8 of theB.1.351 strain).
