Western Australia coronovirus update as at 22 March 2021

The Department of Health has reported one new case of COVID-19 overnight.

The new case a male in his 20s who had returned from overseas travel and is currently in hotel quarantine.

The State's total number of confirmed cases is now 931.

WA Health is monitoring 11 active cases of COVID-19 and 911 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

Yesterday 603 people received a COVID-19 vaccine. To date, 32,115 West Australians have been vaccinated.

Yesterday 171 people presented for testing at WA Health COVD clinics and 170 were assessed and swabbed.

There have been 921,227 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 133,626 were from regional WA.

To date, 35 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia (25 of the B.1.1.7 strain and 10 of the B.1.351 strain).
