Western Australia coronovirus update as at 29 March 2021

The Department of Health has reported three new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

The new cases are two teenagers and a 25-year-old student who have returned from overseas travel and are currently in hotel quarantine.

The State's total number now stands at 938.

WA Health is monitoring 10 active cases of COVID-19 and 915 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, the WA Department of Health has administered 45,091 COVID-19 vaccinations, including 4269 people who have received both doses. Yesterday, 549 people were vaccinated.

Yesterday, 356 people presented for testing at WA Health COVD clinics and 356 were assessed and swabbed.

There have been 928,277 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 134,217 were from regional WA.

To date, 38 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia (27 of the B.1.1.7 strain and 11 of the B.1.351 strain).
