Western Australia coronovirus update as at 3 July 2021

WA Health has reported no new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

The State's total remains at 1029.

WA Health is monitoring nine active COVID-19 cases, five linked to the Perth northern suburbs cluster and four among returned travellers in hotel quarantine.

A total of 398 close contacts have been identified in the community cluster, of which 383 have tested negative so far. Of 2882 casual contacts, 2334 have tested negative so far.

Contact tracing continues with initial public exposure sites available on the HealthyWA website.

In Western Australia, 1011 people have recovered from COVID-19.

Vaccination

WA Health has 360,000 vaccination appointments booked in the coming months and the bookings mirror the available vaccines.

Testing clinics

Yesterday, 8925 people were swabbed.

A list of testing clinics is available on the HealthyWA website.

New South Wales and Queensland

NSW and Queensland are now both assessed as medium risk. Anyone who has arrived into WA from these states are required to get tested immediately (within 48 hours of arrival), self-quarantine for 14 days, and have another test on day 11 of their quarantine period.

They should continue to monitor updated exposure sites on the Queensland Health and NSW Health websites.

Victoria, ACT and Northern Territory

Victoria is assessed as a low-risk location.

South Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand

All are assessed as very low risk.

Variants

To date, 105 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 53 Alpha strain, 15 Beta strain, one Gamma strain and 36 Delta strain.
