Western Australia Covid update as at 6 September 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 1,161 new cases to 4pm yesterday. There are currently 5,849 active cases in Western Australia.

The latest figures from overnight show, there were 205 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 6 in ICU.

Sadly, today's report includes three deaths, dating back to 31 August, which were reported to WA Health yesterday – one woman in her 90s and two men in their 80s.

Of the 1,161 cases, 204 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 957 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total of 3,506 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 1,135,708 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
