Western Sydney University to support region's sports stars

The Western Sydney Academy of Sport is excited to announce Western Sydney University as an official Education Partner.

Academy Chief Executive, Martin Bullock commented, "We are excited to partner with Western Sydney University in providing knowledge and opportunities for our region's young sports people."

The partnership will focus on connecting Academy athletes with opportunities provided by Western Sydney University, as well as creating workplace learning opportunities for students studying at the University.

The Academy will utilise Western Sydney University's world-class facilities for events and education sessions.

Western Sydney University's Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Scott Holmes, welcomes the partnership between the two organisations who will work together to support young people in the region through education and sport.

"Western Sydney University students will benefit greatly from the real-world learning experiences provided by the Western Sydney Academy of Sport," said Professor Holmes.

"Students will have the opportunity to take part in internships and learn from guest lecturers from the Academy. Sports Management students will also be invited to work on a range of industry-linked projects."

Western Sydney University is one of Australia's largest and most dynamic universities with 45,000 students and a geographic footprint across Australia's fastest growing and most culturally diverse region. The University is ranked in the top two per cent of universities in the world and is in the top 100 young universities (Times Higher Education Ranking).
