The City of Stonnington is encouraging the community to head to local parks and reserves and ‘step up to clean up’ this Sunday 7 March for the annual Clean Up Australia Day.
Join one of the biggest volunteer days on the calendar and spend an hour or two connecting with your neighbours. Help pick up rubbish from your favourite public parks, gardens and reserves before it ends up in our waterways.
Cr Matthew Koce and Cr Mike Scott together with City of Stonnington Mayor, Cr Kate Hely will be supporting the community clean up groups on Sunday.
Cr Hely said 2020 was the busiest year for our parks and gardens with many community members taking advantage of outdoors spaces more than ever.
‘I encourage the Stonnington community to get outdoors this Sunday and spend a day in nature to help clean up our valuable and beautiful environment’, said Cr Hely.
