Early earth works on the site of the new public primary school in Whitlam are underway, with a Smoking Ceremony conducted to mark the ramping up of construction works.
This modern, sustainable facility will provide the growing number of Molonglo Valley families with high-quality public education close to home.
Once completed, the school will cater for up to 780 primary school students from preschool to year 6.
Planning for the early childhood education and care centre is also underway and will be developed in a future stage.
Minister for Education and Early Childhood, Yvette Berry, said works were taking shape to deliver this important infrastructure for the Whitlam community.
"This is an exciting time for families in Whitlam and the surrounding area, knowing they will have a dedicated public primary school at their doorstep for years to come," Minister Berry said.
"With the school set to open in a staged approach, we look forward to welcoming the first students in term 1 of 2027. "
