Wingham Central Park Master Plan

MidCoast Council

The Master Plan for Wingham Central Park was adopted by MidCoast Council at its meeting on 23 July 2025.

The Master Plan will guide the future development of the park. It will also help Council and the community to apply for grant funding to bring elements in the plan to life.

The draft Master Plan was initially based on previous community engagement with Wingham community and further refined following three rounds of community engagement.

"Feedback from the Wingham community played a vital role in shaping a revised plan for the park," said Liam Bulley, MidCoast Council's Executive Manager Public Spaces.

"Further input on the draft revised plan was also carefully considered."

Changes based on feedback reflects the value the community place on green space within the Central Park and Wingham CBD, and on items including the vampire jet and log display.

Drainage was a priority for the community to help reduce the impacts of wet weather and closures of the park.

A significant number of people supported the addition of a stage. Suggestions to vary the scale, form and location is represented in the final plan.

"This project is a great example of the community working with Council, with the final plan reflecting what you told us was important to you."
