Wishing everyone safe and happy Easter

It's hard to believe the Easter long weekend is almost here already!

Whether you will be attending church services to reflect on the Easter story or taking the opportunity to catch up with friends and family and share some hot cross buns or chocolate eggs, I hope the weekend is an enjoyable one for all.

Easter is also a great opportunity to relax and recharge. If you're heading away for the long weekend or the school holidays, please ensure you take care on the roads and drive with caution, as there will likely be an increased number of cars on the road.

If you're travelling long distances, please remember to take regular rest stops and make use of the SES Driver Reviver sites. These sites are a great opportunity to take a break, stretch your legs and recharge, which can help you avoid fatigue and ensure you arrive safely at your destination and back home again to Maroondah.

If you are staying local, Maroondah has a range of parks, reserves and open spaces that you can explore. Whether you're wanting to get onto the bike, take the dog for a walk or take the kids to the BMX jumps, you can find everything you need on the Parks and Playgrounds section of our website

A reminder that Realm, including our customer service centre and the Library, will be open on Easter Saturday (8 April) and on Easter Monday (10 April), from 10am to 5pm and closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Our Croydon customer service centre will be closed across the weekend.

On behalf of my fellow Councillors and everyone here at Maroondah City Council, I wish you a wonderful, safe and happy Easter break.

Councillor Rob Steane, Mayor of Maroondah
