Wodonga TAFE to Unveil Logic Innovation Hub in 2026

Wodonga TAFE's Logic Innovation Precinct is poised to redefine vocational education and training in Australia. Scheduled to open in mid-2026, the precinct will serve as a national training and innovation hub for heavy vehicle technology, advanced manufacturing, automation, and robotics.

Traditionally, vocational education is based on historical, well-defined demand for skills and training aligned with traditional trade industries. Now the sector is evolving at a rapid pace and the Logic Innovation Precinct will build on the strengths of established delivery while also preparing the region for a wider range of modern careers

As technology transformation accelerates, the Logic Innovation Precinct provides access and exposure to new technologies for industry to gain vital experience and insights to inform future investment. Furthermore, the Logic Park campus at Wodonga TAFE already offers a Heavy Vehicle technology program and is the ideal location to expand on its current offerings to cater for the growing demand for technology-driven training courses and qualifications.

Building upon the existing facilities, the precinct expansion will be home to a main client hub including advanced manufacturing labs for data and cyber, robotics and automation and additive manufacturing, as well as a heavy vehicle workshop featuring a mezzanine, gantry crane and a future fuels zone.

"The Logic Innovation Precinct is more than a facility - it's a bold step into the future of skills and industry," said Phil Paterson, CEO of Wodonga TAFE. "We're building a space where innovation, education and industry come together to shape the workforce of tomorrow. We're looking to get out from behind the concept of training packages and really work closely with industry in a vocational applied research capability to actually build that capability and become a real strength in regional Victoria and even indeed nationally as well."

The Logic Innovation Precinct also aligns with the Albury Wodonga Regional Deal, developed as a collaboration between the Commonwealth, Victorian and NSW governments along with Albury City and Wodonga Council, working together to support economic development while also ensuring Albury Wodonga remains a nationally significant, liveable and prosperous region. The Deal recognises that community (local Councils), business (Industry partners) and government stakeholders will continue to be critical to identifying local priorities and delivering on a shared vision for the region.
