Woman Charged for Offensive Language in Maroubra

A woman will face court charged following an alleged offensive language incident in Sydney's east yesterday.

Just after 10am on Saturday 9 May 2026, police were called to netball courts on Fitzgerald Avenue, Maroubra, after reports a woman had allegedly made offensive comments towards a group of people.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and spoke with a 42-year-old woman and given a move-on direction.

Following inquiries, about 12.30pm today (Sunday 10 May 2026), the woman was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for use offensive language in / near public place / school.

She is due to appear before Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 17 June 2026.
